A Taste Called Nostalgia

There’s a certain kind of flavor that doesn’t come from gourmet recipes or Michelin stars.
It’s not about umami, spice, or perfect plating.
It’s the taste of memory.

For many of us, that flavor comes from a dish made by mom.
Not necessarily her best dish — maybe it was just "okay."
Maybe the rice was a little too soft.
Maybe the miso soup wasn’t restaurant-level.
But somehow, we still crave it.
We chase it.
Because it's not just taste.
It’s home. It’s comfort. It’s love.

That’s nostalgia.
It doesn’t care about five-star reviews.
It lives in a warm bowl shared at the kitchen table, or a simple snack after school.

At tea@japan, we believe tea can hold that same quiet magic.
Some of our customers have walked the narrow alleys of Kyoto, or breathed in the misty air of the Japanese countryside.
Some remember their Japanese friends serving them tea with shy smiles and homemade sweets.
Some may have never been to Japan — only visited through books, movies, or maybe a scene from Shogun.

But no matter where you’re from, we want you to feel Japan in every sip.
Not just through flavor — but through feeling.
That peaceful moment. That deep breath. That pause.
That little wave of “I’ve been here before.”

Because tea doesn’t just taste good.
It feels good.
And sometimes, it tastes like a memory.
