Tea or Coffee? Why Not Both?
I recently came across a post on Instagram that said something like,
"Replacing your morning coffee with green tea is like giving up the joy of life."
And I paused. Not because I fully agreed, or disagreed.
But because… why does it have to be one or the other?
Here’s the thing: I don’t believe in replacing.
Not when it comes to drinks — and definitely not when it comes to joy.
We don’t need to pick sides.
Tea lovers, coffee lovers — we can all sit at the same table.
Some mornings, I crave the clean, grounding calm of green tea.
Other times, I want the bold, deep hug of a good coffee — especially with a piece of fine chocolate (don’t get me started).
It's not about loyalty.
It’s about listening to what you feel like today.
This isn’t a love triangle.
It’s not boyfriend vs. husband.
It’s just… beverages. Delicious, comforting, life-enhancing beverages.
So when someone tells me to replace coffee with tea — or vice versa — I smile.
Because I know better.
You can recommend. You can suggest.
But you don’t have to choose forever.
We’re allowed to have both.
We’re allowed to have many.
Tea and coffee.
Serious mornings and slow afternoons.
Peaceful sips and energetic jolts.
Because joy doesn’t come from choosing one thing and sticking with it forever.
Sometimes, joy is simply having options.
